Gentle Teeth Whitening Procedure
The teeth whitening procedure is pretty straight forward:
- First we apply a hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel to your teeth.
- Then we give you eye protection and direct a high intensity light on your teeth. The light “pulls” the chemical in the gel, into the tooth, to lighten your natural tooth.
- The high intensity light makes your mouth feel very warm. You can relax, watch TV or listen to music while the light does its work.
- After the treatment, your teeth may lighten up to 6-10 shades whiter. The average whitening people experience is 8 shades whiter.
Side Effects:
The most typical side-effect is increased tooth sensitivity to cold for 1-3 days after being treated.
Rarely, there may be a minor tingling sensation right after your procedure. It will go away. We can also give you solutions that will decrease the sensitivity.
